ERNEST COMMUNICATIONS INC. ENTERS INTO NATIONWIDE COMMERCIAL AGREEMENTS
ATLANTA – March 31, 2005 – Ernest Communications, Inc, ECI announced today it has completed negotiations and formally entered into commercial wholesale agreements for local service in all available ILEC territories throughout the U.S. These agreements include BellSouth Corporation (NYSE: BLS), Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q), Verizon Communications, Inc. (NYSE: VZ), SBC Communications, Inc. (NYSE: SBC), and Sprint (NYSE: FON).
The multi-year agreements eliminate previous uncertainty associated with providing local telephone service under the UNE platform, and are a significant part of ECI’s long-term strategy to become the nation’s leading provider of local telephone service for large multi-location enterprise customers.
“We are extremely pleased to have successfully completed negotiations with the ILEC’s. These agreements, combined with other strategic initiatives in which we are currently engaged, will further strengthen our product offerings for local telephone service throughout the U.S.,” said Paul Masters, President of ECI.
“Executing these agreements is further evidence of our long-term commitment to serving our existing customers and our expansion into every local market throughout the U.S.” said Jay Morris, Senior Vice President of ECI. “Our goal is to be the nation’s leading provider of local service for multi-location accounts, providing our customers with single point-of-contact service and single invoice billing for each and every location, nationwide. Our customers enjoy the benefit and peace-of-mind of handing off the responsibility of managing the daily issues of plain old telephone service, such as location openings, closings, adds, moves, changes, trouble reporting and bill auditing, while their internal telecom resources can now focus on emerging technology opportunities.”
